'The Meeting' oils 76 x 51 cm. I was commissioned by Clare County Council to illustrate a cover for their anniversary book. It depicts a scene during the 'War of independence' 1920. All council meetings were banned by the British Government and the council members were wanted men. The scene is of a meeting being held in secret near Killone Abbey county Clare. They were being protected by the local IRA flying Column.
